Continuing its exploration of the “front page” and the impact of news on our lives, this edition of
FRONTPAGE takes the form of a
collective, site-specific curatorial project. This means that the presentation and display of the works are shaped by the character of the exhibition venue.
In the city’s main library, visitors are invited to engage with the artworks while simultaneously conducting their own inquiry into print and digital media — reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary artists.
The event brings together artists, curators, researchers, and media professionals from Cyprus, Greece, and beyond. The program includes a group exhibition, a symposium, and a creative workshop for students at the Cyprus University of Technology.
Contributing to the development of educational programs and curatorial initiatives aimed at deepening the understanding of art and media,
Yulia Sysalova - Curator, art critic, member of AICA, and founder of the Online School of Art Communications/
@julietath — took part as a symposium speaker. In her talk, she addressed the relationship between art and communication, the current directions of this field, the ethical challenges posed by AI, and future perspectives. Sysalova is also part of the exhibition’s curatorial team and one of the lecturers in the creative workshop.
We warmly invite everyone who will be in Cyprus at this time, and who is interested in contemporary art and media, to join this important cultural event and discover more about the role of art in today’s media landscape.
