Lena Kardash is a contemporary painter born in the Soviet Union and based in Madrid. Her practice focuses on the growing complexity and interconnectedness of contemporary reality and on how these conditions shape human perception and experience.
Trained in architecture and art, Kardash brings a structural way of thinking to painting. Working primarily in oil on linen, she builds her images through thin, translucent layers, moving between clearly defined forms and areas of ambiguity.
