ARTIST'S STATEMENT
My journey as an artist is a walk along the spiral road of life, where I create a red thread for the viewer to hold on to. My art is an exploration of systemic failures, those moments in the life of man, society and nature that move away from the center of this spiral, followed by a return to it by the power of attention.
It is my personal ritual, a process of "alchemy" that transforms problems into opportunities. Working in the field of metamodernism, I actualize the knowledge of life, which has evolved over millennia, into the present day.
Drawing on Campbell's idea of the monomyth, I create my own metaphor for a path that everyone can understand: the invincible power of the elements of nature, their collision and subsequent quiescence. It is the force of attraction to the center to which everything that seeks to evolve is drawn.
I create paintings at the intersection of figurative and abstract, using a mixed technique layer by layer. On the canvas I use different textures and densities of materials: sand, texture paste, acrylic with different degrees of transparency and gold leaf. Often my fingers serve as a brush, to maximize contact with the material.
Acrylic gives the freedom to make quick decisions, where mistakes can become part of my artistic language, part of the harmony, and the canvas accepts this process, becomes one with it, and stores the result for transmission to others.
Like the red thread of Ariadne, my art leads the viewer through a path of transformation, where he or she, living each stage in its entirety, approaches the center of the spiral at each turn.
