Maya Shi is a Russian-born, Singapore-based photographer known for her art with a sour touch of lunacy and a hint of dreamlike, delightful light.
Educated at the Moscow Academy of Photography and the New York Institute of Photography, she developed a distinctive visual language that balances beauty and subtle unease. Her early passion for ballet at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre shaped her understanding of body lines and movement.
