CONCEPT
NINA KRUSER “Pattern — The Path to Meeting the Self”
The “Pattern” series explores female identity within the context of cultural and social templates. The works Labyrinth of Expectations (I–II) and the diptych Binding Pattern (I–II) reflect on the boundaries between the self and the image, between essence and social role.
Through painting and graphic media, I reveal the tension between the personal and the imposed. Repetitive patterns — like ornamentation — give shape but suppress individuality.
My multilayered mixed-media works conceal and reveal the image. Where the mask dissolves, the encounter with the true self begins.
The works reflect the multilayered and fragmented nature of identity, creating visual patterns similar to a shifting kaleidoscope.
“Pattern” is an act of awareness and an initiation toward liberation through an invitation to dialogue.
